Hosting and requests

The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites using Cloudflare infrastructure. Serving and protecting the site involves processing connection information such as IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and request times. Hosting providers may retain operational and security logs. Our application does not set their retention periods. See OpenAI's privacy information and Cloudflare's privacy information. Providers may process data outside your country, including the United States; their notices describe their international-transfer arrangements.

Embedded media and artwork

Channel Electronic uses YouTube API Services, SoundCloud, Mixcloud, and remote artwork from content sources. Loading a thumbnail or player sends connection information to its provider. Some content, including the Featured Mixset player, loads before you press play. Other players load when opened. Providers may serve advertisements and use cookies or similar technologies; existing provider account settings can affect processing.

See the Google Privacy Policy, SoundCloud Privacy Policy, and Mixcloud Privacy Policy. Our optional analytics setting does not block these media connections. Browser content-blocking tools can limit them, although that may prevent playback or artwork from loading.

Optional analytics

Optional browser analytics is off unless you enable it in Privacy settings below. If enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures traffic and performance, and our own counter records aggregate daily counts of visits, page-depth milestones, and site interactions. Interactions can include a short label identifying selected content or an external destination domain.

Our counter uses a simple ce_seen browser marker for first or returning visits, not a unique visitor identifier. Its database stores grouped counts, not IP addresses, email addresses, or personal listening histories. Cloudflare zone analytics and infrastructure processing are separate from the optional browser beacon; turning off the beacon does not disable security or network-level statistics.

Change or withdraw the optional analytics choice below. Saving reloads the page to unload a previously running beacon. Existing aggregate totals are not erased by withdrawal. The browser choice is stored locally and is separate on each site domain.

Local storage and the reception log

The site also stores local information for the return briefing, saved or heard selections, and an Incoming snapshot. Listening memory retains up to 100 entries on your device, not a synchronized visitor account. These convenience features are separate from optional analytics. Clear site data in your browser to remove local records and preferences. Some convenience data is recreated when you use the site again.

Studio and connected music accounts

Studio is restricted to the operator. Sign-in supplies an account identifier, email address, and potentially a display name. Editorial records can retain author identifiers and timestamps. Music-service authorization uses short-lived security cookies.

The operator can authorize read-only YouTube access. Server-side access and refresh tokens support importing channel subscriptions, including channel identifiers, names, URLs, artwork links, and synchronization timestamps. These subscriptions guide public music discovery. This implementation does not read YouTube viewing history or liked-video history, or post, subscribe, or change the YouTube account.

The operator's SoundCloud connection supports discovery from followed accounts, tracks, and reposts. Public selections may identify music discovered through connected accounts; credentials are not sent in public responses. Ordinary visitors are not asked to authorize their Google accounts.

Revoke Google authorization in Google Account connections. Revocation stops future authorized access but is distinct from deleting previously stored data. Email the operator to request deletion of stored account data or with questions about these practices. Do not send passwords or access tokens. Deletion requests are handled by the operator, not an automatic visitor self-service tool.

Messages, suggestions, and retention

Email messages contain the information you choose to send and are used to address your request. Where a suggestion form is available, it stores submitted links, notes, media metadata, and review timestamps. Suggestions are not automatically published; approved content may be featured. Do not include private information in submissions.

Local records remain until cleared, replaced, or evicted by your browser. Editorial records and aggregate counters currently have no automatic expiry. Daily housekeeping runs when discovery runs, removing expired sign-in requests, inactive imported subscriptions and followings last seen more than 30 days ago, subscription discovery payloads older than 30 days, and access tokens expired for more than a day. Refresh credentials are retained to support the active connection. The operator can disconnect YouTube in Studio to remove its locally stored credentials, subscription records, and subscription discovery cache; independent editorial records are not removed by that action. Google-side revocation remains a separate action. We review other deletion requests individually, including applicable platform requirements and legal obligations. A dashboard's displayed date range is not a deletion schedule.

Retention details updated 8 September 2026.

Purposes and rights

Processing supports site delivery and security, operator authentication, editorial discovery, requested correspondence, local listening features, and optional usage measurement. Optional analytics is based on your choice, which can be withdrawn. Operational processing serves our legitimate interest in running and protecting this independent site; the applicable basis and your rights depend on the particular processing and law. Authorizing a music-service connection does not authorize unrelated uses of that account.

Where applicable, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, or portability of personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may complain to a competent data-protection authority. Use the contact above; we may need enough information to identify the relevant record, but do not send unnecessary identity documents.

Material changes to this notice will be dated. Also see our site terms and legal notice.
